Art House

Dreams Art House

What happens when the House is the Artwork?

Not able to leave Japan and having exhibitions cancelled and postponed internationally, Japanese-Australian artists Ken + Julia Yonetani decided to create their own off-grid art facility, Dreams Art House, to feature their artwork and promote local arts and culture as well as sustainability and community engagement in the Kyoto countryside. Kamiyoshi, literally the “lucky gods” is one of Japan’s many “disappearing villages”, where population decline has led to neglect and dilapidation. We have spent close to one year meticulously restoring this building, to create a hub for art and cultural exchange, the promotion of sustainable environmental practices, the forging of grassroots international networks, and the rejuvenation of the countryside.

Dreams Art House features Events and Exhibitions with the aim of promoting sustainability and grassroots international cultural exchange. For inquiries please use Ken + Julia Yonetani contact form on this website.
